Deb Yanker-Black of The Wine Company will share five courses of Syrah from France, Australia, California and Washington while Chris Kohtz from W&W will craft five cheese pairings to highlight the grape’s diversity from region to region.

This class will feature five wines from this storied region including Viognier, Chardonnay, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Production of these premium wines is limited and allotment in Minnesota is quite small. This is a unique opportunity to try five of the finest wines from one of California's historic wine regions. As always, the W&W staff will craft cheese and charcuterie pairings to compliment.

Our June 7th class will be the first of two looks with two different instructors at a region beloved for both cheeses and wines: The Loire Valley.

The Loire spans several storied regions including Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Bourgueil, Chinon, and Vouvray. Best-loved grapes include Chinon blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Cabernet franc among many others.

It's long been said that the Barberas from Alba and Asti in The Piedmont differ in strength and elegance, in rusticity and modernity. While all Barberas share a vibrancy and acidity, bright red fruit and heady, floral aromas, we'll learn in this class that Barbera has taken a rightfully-earned leadership role in Italy by showing a beautiful diversity of styles.
