Are you a cheese zealot? Just cheese-curious? Whether your cheese expertise is limited to grocery store Colby or eating fresh Chèvre amongst the lavender fields of France, Cheese 101 is an evening of cheese discovery.
Each class will guide you through a tasting of the eight primary cheese types: fresh, semi-soft, soft-ripened, surface-ripened, semi-hard, hard, blue and washed rind.
You will learn the basics of each type, how to taste and to use your nose as well as some of the stories behind the cheeses in each class.
You'll leave with the knowledge you need to go toe-to-toe with any cheesemonger, make cheese buying easier and how to create a perfect cheese course of your own.
Each class includes wine or non-alcoholic beverage pairing along with a variety of accompaniments.
Cheese 101 is a great shared experience for your club or group. Seating is limited to 12 per class. Cheese 101 repeats every Thursday at 6:30PM, starting in February. Plan ahead and choose a date that works for you.
